MANILA, Philippines - Despite the outrage caused last February 2016, when Congressman Manny Pacquiao made a comment about gays as being “worse than animals.”, Pacquiao, the world’s second highest paid athlete in 2015, was still able to garner a seat in the 2016 Philippine elections.

To the dismay of all those who were offended by the Congressman's statements, Manny Pacquiao was able to gather enough votes to breeze into the hallowed halls of the Senate.  After being assessed as the representative with the most number of absences, all eyes are on Pacquiao for perfect attendance in his new post in the Senate.

Senator-elect Pacquiao, in an interview with ANC last October 2015, said that he will work harder should he win, recognizing the much bigger responsibilities that a senator handles.

''Ang inisip ko, kapag pumasok ako kailangan seryoso, walang absent, palaging papasok, dahil buong bansa ang responsibilidad mo,'' the boxing champ said.

All eyes are now on Senator Manny.  Pacquiao will find himself in a bind.  Either way, he will make news this year with perfect attendance, which is in step with his Christian duty to be a good witness, or...make news on his very first absence, even if it is for a valid reason.
